Lone Pine lake is about 3 miles up the trail. This little lake is really a pond and has no obvious creek feeding it and no creek leading out. Its source of water is from the snow melt each year. When we climbed out onto some rocks that went out into the lake we could see trout swimming in the icy water. I would love to come back just to fish this little lake some day. This was another excellent camping spot. We tried unsuccessfully to get the beauty of the pond of film. I found a couple of pictures taken by Todd Grace and he was kind enough to allow me to use his art on my site.
